Zip lovers your time has come!
When new products are born I start with my own needs. First, I think over what and how would I like, what is practical and usable for me, than I make a short survey about it. When I didn’t have a Facebook profile roughly my friends had voice in the product development –but thanks for Internet the Great, now you can also have the chance. My friends were a bit grumpy of loosing their privilege but this is the 21th century, this is what we have to love. (My dear friends: your opinions are still important for me!)
Ham-cure
I like all sorts of things about Easter, the weather, the smells, the rebirth of nature, but obviously the best thing about it is food. Ham, eggs and horseradish – I could live with this combo for a long time. If I didn’t know that one should have a balanced diet and that eggs increase your cholesterol level I would be able to eat only these for weeks. But I know that you have to have a balanced diet and I am frightened by the high cholesterol level, so it’s only at Easter when I can happily (guilt-free) eat ham with eggs and eggs with ham spiced with hot horseraddish for days.
Spring renewal
In the spring I have a hunger for new stuff as much as I hunger for sunshine. It can be anything, a pair of brand new shoes, a colourful spring scarf, a great bag, an exciting book, a nice piece of jewellery, but I am also happy with a second-hand but cool porcelain knick-knack (just Tamás shouldn’t see it…)
I bet many of you feel the same – so this is why I am preparing intensively for the first WAMP this year, which will take place on the 20th of March, this Sunday at the Millenáris.
The evolution of rosettes
I enjoyed making rosettes when I was a child. To tell you the truth I enjoyed doing all sorts of crafts so I liked making rosettes too. Naturally I wanted to try a different style every year, since fashion is fashion even if we only talk about rosettes. And doing the same thing twice – there’s nothing exciting about that at all. So I made tiny, big, narrow, wide, crocheted, bent and classic style rosettes, even one of beads. Then I grew up and showed an interest in all sorts of things except for rosettes.
Prune and walnut bread
There’s a bakery close to us we have totally fallen in love with. Specifically with their prune and walnut bread. It’s sooooo delicious! A real handmade bread with high quality ingredients baked superbly. The crust is crunchy, the inside is soft, it is just as a bread should be. No preservatives, no artificial flavours and it keeps fresh for a good few days. So turbocharge it with walnuts and prunes not a little amount either! Can you imagine that? The toasted walnut have such a lovely smell that the thought of them makes my mouth water and then those huge chunks of prunes in it…..unbelivable! So we are really pleased with this bread – (and with ourselves for having found it) and we would give any money for it. And we do pay for it, because half kg of it costs almost 600 Fts.

Whether it’s embarrassing or not to admit but I love when others think of me. And I don’t mind either if it comes with a little surprise. What’s more I don’t mind at all if it happens on Valentine’s day. Yes, I know it’s an American celebration and if I wanted to be trendy I’d blow it off. But the thing is – American or not – I am always happy about any occasion when we pay a bit more attention to our loved ones than we usually do, heaven forbid even give presents to each other. Of course I don’t expect to be pleased all the time, I am always ready with something too. Are you curious about my Valentine’s day picture for this year?
