Prune and walnut bread

There’s a bakery close to us we have totally fallen in love with. Specifically with their prune and walnut bread. It’s sooooo delicious! A real handmade bread with high quality ingredients baked superbly. The crust is crunchy, the inside is soft, it is just as a bread should be. No preservatives, no artificial flavours and it keeps fresh for a good few days. So turbocharge it with walnuts and prunes not a little amount either! Can you imagine that? The toasted walnut have such a lovely smell that the thought of them makes my mouth water and then those huge chunks of prunes in it…..unbelivable! So we are really pleased with this bread – (and with ourselves for having found it) and we would give any money for it. And we do pay for it, because half kg of it costs almost 600 Fts.

Tamás’s dad was in shock when he learnt how much the bread costs and started listing exasperatedly shops where we could buy bread for half or quarter of the price. What’s more if there’s a special offer we could get bread for 20% of the price. He is probably right, but I’m too young to look for such special offers – and anyway we like this bread because this bread is good! And quality – as everyone knows – has a price.
This fundamental truth is relevant not only for bread (who would have thought that? ; ). When I’m looking to find a producer for a new product or materials my priority is always quality. I always aim to make products with materials and technologies which would not only make them beautiful but long-lasting as well. Because it’s great to buy unique items but it’s even better if you can use them for a very long time.
However, being selective has its price. The workshops I cooperate with are not the cheapest on the market, but they guarantee continuous quality and they can make my plans come true. So we can create everlasting cool products I am proud of and according to the feedback that you are happy with too!
I’ll stick with this quality even if occasionally it has some downsides, namely with a rise in prices. This doesn’t mean a drastic change – you can still get special and unique RothAniko products at affordable prices. They are definitely not made in China, you won’t see them in the street five times a day and you can use them for a long time. What’s more, you can have a say in product development! I try to consider your opinions and ideas just like before, so I will continue making opinion polls about new things on Facebook.
You, my faithful and enthusiastic readers are at an advantage as I can reveal to you now that until the first of March, so for the next two weeks you can buy all my products online or at Paloma for the old prices. (1053 Budapest, Kossuth L. u. 14-16. (in the courtyard) We are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 11AM to 7PM.)
So I suggest that you should come and buy quality products and eat delicious bread!
