I naturally envision individual ideas rather than concepts, indeed my other popular series was also induced by an outer influence. Back in 2008 I was invited to exhibit and fill a sizeable surface in the Mednyánszky Art Gallery during the Jewish Summer Festival. Although my existing paintings and illustrations proved to be sufficient for the surface, I definitely wanted to exhibit something new as well.
I received the invitation in the Spring, so I had plenty of time in theory and I also felt that I should come up with some coherent set of works, but the divine spark arrived only in the last minute, hardly a few weeks before the deadline. When it struck me that the simplest ideas are the best and I will paint of course the atmosphere of the individual months I had no idea how I will express it actually. I was only sure that I do not want worn-out passing of the time motifs or natural scenery. And then on one morning when I was washing my teeth I looked into the mirror and the sun was shining so perfectly that I almost had a Miss July face. And at that moment I knew that this is the solution: faces of girls that change from month to month and reveal more and more aspects of themselves, also reflecting the atmosphere of the world surrounding them. Eventually, I could not complete all 12 paintings in time, but the finished 8 paintings were so successful, they were admired by so many and to such an extent that I decided to finish this project for my own sake. And also for your sake, so that this can be the other life-feeling that I share with you on my products: that our faces are also something like this, that does not age in the core because with respect to the passing of the time it is not the passing what is important but only the constant change.
