Once I was at a party where surprisingly the topic was cooking. We were talking about the dishes of our mothers which were always better than ours, and the dishes of the grannies which were better than our mother’s. And when we become mothers our dishes will be better than our children’s. So how is this? Humanity always eats worse and worse food? We didn’t find out the solution but we all agreed that our mother’s recipes must be inherited (even if we cannot produce them perfectly). For this of course we need a super recipe book.
Beside the family recipes I have the million others saved in my browser to the favourites, but when I need the recipe of that „whatshisname” I surely cannot find it. And there is that „I’m sure I will remember it” story which always ends with „I don’t remember it”.
So a hand-written recipe book is needed!!! But it is not all the same what it is like. At least not for me. So I made one which I think is just fine. Practical and petty. These are all true but my motivation was not making a recipe book for me. Because of the gastro-craze has been lasting for years I had the thought sometimes that I sould make something related to food, but the inspiraton arrived when I opened the shop in Paloma.
We found out to activate a bit the journalists at the mediabreakfast – so I drew with them. Or they drew with me. As you like. This is OK but what should we draw?! While I was thinking of this the picture suddenly appeared. The conectioner girl.
After all it is not too hard to find out that the inspiration came from the preparation of the shop opening We planned soo much delicacy. Pastries, cookies, biscuits… It is still mouthwatering when I think of them.
So the idea came, the picture was ready and the mediabreakfast was over. And I was standing there with this graphic and I should have done something with it. What else would came along: a recipe book. We had to wait a year for it but finally it is here and I think it’s great! It has enough place for 100 recipes, it has TABLE OF CONTENTS, bookmark – so it is very practical and decorative too.
I know it must be somebody among you who says that the google also has bookmark and it can store mor than 100 recipes – but I say: all so-told housewife has a hand-written recipe book! At least with 1-2 recipes from mother and grandmother complemented with some useul practices, tips from a friend, cool foods from gastroblogs. Maybe with some own developments.
My recipe book is exactly for this purpose! It is appropriate if the former one is full or too shabby. It is also perfect as a present! Mothers can give bravely for their daughters complemented with some own recipe, or vice versa.
